Did All The Apollo Missions Splash Down with Three Parachutes?
The full complement of main parachutes for Apollo was three but the Command Module could splash down with just two if necessary. Apollo 15, carrying Scott, Worden, and Irwin, was the only ship to suffer a parachute failure. It landed safely with just two chutes.
